Out on the hunt tonight. These balls were attached to giant chains that were used to clear the forest from a large canyon prior to it being filled with water.

That is amazingly a very comprehensive and well researched article about this aspect of the dam construction. The dam itself is quite a site to behold. Standing on top gives me the nervous tic.

My thoughts with most dams is usually centered around “What if?”. It’s not paranoia or some nervous compulsion, just general concern for what would occur if something were to happen.
Being interested in history in general, I came across some intere sting articles regar ding the dam construction, one of which also lead me to an article on the Spanish Flu in Mon tana. The links are below, if want look them over.

Interesting. We have a very similar steel ball here in Lethbridge, but they turned it into some sort of lame art piece. Something about the wind blowing it.
